What this assessment is
The Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition (Vineland-3) is the standard instrument for measuring adaptive functioning. It captures the everyday skills people use to take care of themselves, communicate, and participate in their communities. It is the assessment most often required by Colorado for Long-Term Care Medicaid Waiver eligibility, and one of the most widely accepted measures of adaptive behavior in clinical, educational, and legal settings nationwide.
I administer the Vineland-3 directly with you and the people who know the individual being assessed. The interview is paced respectfully. There is no rushing, no quizzing, no pressure to perform. The output is a clean, formatted clinical report that explains what the scores mean, what they show, and what the person needs. It is written in language that case managers, attorneys, courts, and families can all use.

Long-Term Care Medicaid Waiver eligibility
Colorado requires an IQ or Adaptive Functioning assessment completed within the last three years to qualify for most Long-Term Care Medicaid Waivers. If a previous assessment is aging out, or if one has never been completed, the Vineland-3 is what most Single Entry Points and Case Management Agencies are looking for. I work directly with families, and alongside case managers, Community Centered Board staff, and guardians walking with them through the process.

Standardized Vineland-3 scoring
Domain and subdomain scores in Communication, Daily Living Skills, Socialization, and Motor Skills (when applicable), with the Adaptive Behavior Composite. Scored, interpreted, and explained.
03 · Written clinical report

A signed clinical report explaining the scores, what they show about adaptive functioning, and what the person needs. Written in plain professional language, not jargon, so families and case managers can both use it.

Ready for SEP / CMA / court

A note from Stephanie
Adaptive functioning assessments are the work I do most often. Most of the families I work with are already mid-process. A renewal deadline approaching, a waiver application in motion, an existing assessment aging out. What they need is someone who will not waste their time, will treat the person being assessed with care, and will produce documentation that does the job the first time.
